UF is a typemembrane filtration that uses semi-permeable membranes to separate impuritiesfrom water based on their size. It is primarily used to remove suspendedsolids, colloids and microorganisms, but is not effective in removing dissolvedsolids such as salts, minerals and dissolved organic molecules.
